When the Overwatch League started many were confused by the lack of women on the teams especially Kim “Geguri” Se-yeon. Now, according to ESPN, Geguri has signed with the Shanghai Dragons and if it is made official, it will represent the first woman to join the Overwatch League.
Geguri plays an off-tank will join Lee “Fearless” Eui-Seok, Cheon “Ado” Ki-hyun, and an unnamed Chinese player. The team needs a shakeup after suffering loss after loss in the Overwatch League. With just two more matches left for Shanghai Dragons in stage one, the team could go without a win if it keeps its losing streak.

While Geguri would be the first female player in the Overwatch League, it is important as she represents one of the only female players competing at this level in eSports.
