Twitch has reportedly paid Blizzard $90 million for a two-year deal to stream the Overwatch League and other events. The financials behind the deal came from a report by Sports Business Journal who cited sources.
The streaming site will stream all of the regular season and postseason matches as well as act as the sole broadcaster for half of the league’s 12 weekly matches. The other half will be simultaneously streamed on Major League Gaming which is owned by Activision-Blizzard.
While Twitch has streaming rights to the Overwatch League which commences tomorrow, it is believed that the streaming service also made a deal for more than just the OWL although details weren’t forthcoming.
Overwatch is available now for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
