Linksys is releasing a new router targeting Xbox One gamers and their desire for lower latency gaming with the Linksys WRT32XB.
Launching in February for $299.99, the router will prioritize PC and Xbox One, Xbox One S and Xbox One X network traffic using Riven Networks’ Killer Networking technology. That technology promises to reduce “peak ping” of gaming by as much as 65 percent. Other traffic like your roommate watching streaming video, torrenting, searching for their ex on Facebook won’t impact your gaming either.
The Linksys WRT32XB is in addition to the already existing Linksys WRT32X which handles PC gaming traffic more efficiently. So if you don’t have an Xbox One then you could opt for that model instead.
The router comes with 2.4GHz and 5GHz dual-band support via four external antennae, four-gigabit ethernet ports, USB 3.0 port and an eSATA/USB 2.0 port. All that is powered by a 1 .8 GHz dual-core CPU with 512 MB RAM and 256 MB Flash memory.
The new offer will also carry the official Xbox branding.
