Games are big business and players can’t wait to get them, that is likely one of the reasons why Apple is rolling out a new feature which will allow customers to pre-order apps on the App Store.
In a partner post by Apple, the company explains
Customers can see your product page and order your app before it’s released for download. Once your app is released, customers will be notified and your app will automatically download to their device. For paid apps, customers will be charged before download.
Customers who place a pre-order will be notified when the app goes live and their payment method will be charged before the download occurs. If the developer of the app changes the price before the app is released but after pre-orders have been taken, the lowest price will be honoured.
One of the first games to use this new feature is Playdead’s INSIDE which is available to pre-order now.
