Atari has confirmed that their new retro console, the Ataribox, will be available for pre-order starting on the 14th December 2017.
Running Open Linux OS, the Ataribox has the ability to play new and old games so takes Nintendo’s retro approach and builds on it. The final result is two variants of the same console, one with the classic Atari 2600 wood panel finish and another all black version.
While the pre-order start date has been revealed, there is no information on how much the Ataribox will retail for. Regardless of price, as someone that had an Atari 2600, we have to say we are pretty excited to see what the new console can do.
