The Official PlayStation Twitter for Brazil account appears to have been hacked and while Sony appears to have regained control and removed Tweets, it didn’t happen before NeoGAF user Cubas captured them.
A group going by the name of OurMine claim responsibility for the hacked social network account. While it had control of the account, the group Tweeted a worrying message that the social channel may be the least of Sony’s problems.
PlayStation Network Databases leaked #OurMine
They went on to say that they wouldn’t be sharing the information but wanted someone at PlayStation to contact them about the potential security issue.
No, we aren’t going to share it, we are a security group, if you works at Playstation then please go to our website ourmine.org -> Contact
While the breach of PlayStation databases hasn’t been confirmed by Sony, it is wise that you should consider changing your password just in case. It wouldn’t be the first time that Sony has been hit with a massive cyberattack. Back in 2011, PlayStation suffered an attack that took the PlayStation Network offline for an extended period of time. At the time, 70 million accounts were compromised.
