During an interview at Gamescom 2017, Brendan “PlayerUnknown” Greene confirmed that PLAYER UNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS will be heading to Xbox One’s Game Preview late in 2017. He went on to confirm that Bluehole and Microsoft had signed a PLAYER UNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS publishing deal. The deal includes publishing the game on Xbox One and Xbox One X.
CH Kim, Executive Producer and VP at Bluehole explained
Back in June at E3, we announced that PUBG will be launching exclusively on Xbox One in the Xbox Game Preview program in late 2017. Ever since then we have come to realize that we have a shared vision for the direction of the game with the Xbox team. This led to our decision on extending our partnership with Microsoft and I’m happy to announce it now includes Microsoft as the publisher for our PUBG on Xbox One.
The deal, says Greene, allows Blue Hole to retain all rights and creative decisions while being able to make use of Microsoft’s knowledge and expertise to make the game run as well as possible.
It will come to Xbox One and Xbox One X platforms in late 2017. PLAYERUNKNOWN’s BATTLEGROUNDS is available now for PC via Steam Early Access.
