Neil deGrasse Tyson will be at E3 2017 in June showing off the current status of his Linux, Mac, PC, VR and mobile game, Space Odyssey. The real-time strategy game has you “develop planets, colonize worlds, nurture species, mine elements, build robots, and discover unique life-forms.”
Being Neil deGrasse Tyson, the game will include educational elements so while you play, you learn.
Be part of Dr. Tyson’s journey to create Space Odyssey, an awe-inspiring gaming experience of galactic exploration and colonization. With its foundation based in scientifically accurate game-play, you’ll join Dr. Tyson and a team of science all-stars on a thrilling ride through the cosmos. Create your own celestial civilizations to compete with others in an intense game of strategy.
While the game is coming to multiple platforms, it seems that only the Mac and PC versions will be able to play online with others on a peer-to-peer connection. Other platforms, therefore, will likely be single-player experiences only.
If you are interested in trying out the Beta, you can register your interest at the official Space Odyssey website.
