IO Interactive, the team behind Hitman which was recently announced would be released by parent company Square Enix has announced a number of layoffs at the studio. The reason behind the layoffs was apparently to become “better equipped for future adventures.”
The news came as the company released an official statement to its fans through their Twitter account

The studio hasn’t said how many developers have been let go or how much of the studio it represents but the fact there has been an announcement suggests it isn’t a small percentage of the developers.
