Microsoft has confirmed that Crackdown 3 will release under their Xbox Play Anywhere program for Windows 10 PC and Xbox One. The news was released via the official Crackdown Twitter account.

The game which is being developed by original creator Dave Jones has also been confirmed that it will release in 2017 in an official blog post. Oddly, the post also confirms that the game won’t be on show at E3 this year.
The game promises to make the most of Xbox Live and cloud computing systems likely in Azure, something which Microsoft promoted early in the Xbox One life cycle but never really took off outside of the Forza series. It will be interesting to see how and if the cloud computing will work and whether Crackdown 3 will be a better game for it.
