NFL player Tom Brady will have to watch out as he has been confirmed by EA as the Madden NFL 18’s cover star. The reason he should be careful is that EA cover stars often go on to lose in the following events. It has happened before and it will happen again but will it happen to Brady?
As well as the Standard Edition of the game, EA Sports has announced Madden NFL 18 G.O.A.T Edition which costs more being the collector’s edition of the game. It provides you with 3 days early access to play the game. Although if you have EA Origin Access on Xbox One you’d get more advanced play than that anyway. EA Access subscribers will be able to start on the 17th August while G.O.A.T Edition owners can start playing on the 22nd August.
If you aren’t up on your acronyms, G.O.A.T. represents “Greatest of all time.”
If you pre-order the G.O.A.T. Edition then here is what you can expect:
Fans who pre-order the standard edition will receive numerous benefits, including the choice of an Elite player from their favorite NFL team for use in Madden NFL 18 Ultimate Team, as well as five Squad Packs, redeemable at launch. In celebration of the Greatest of All-Time, those looking for even more can opt for the G.O.A.T. Edition, which gets them not only what’s in the standard edition, but also one of five G.O.A.T. players of their choice for Madden NFL 18 Ultimate Team, and more.
Brady represents the second time a Patriots player graced the cover of the game in sequence as Rob Gronkowski was the Madden NFL 17 cover star. As a Patriots fan, perhaps it was Peter Moore’s decision before leaving Electronic Arts to become CEO of Liverpool FC.
Madden NFL 18 also represents the franchise’s first time using DICE’s Frostbite Engine, something which FIFA did last year.
Madden NFL 18 takes a significant visual leap with the power of the Frostbite engine. See stunning new stadium exteriors surrounded by vast cityscapes and watch the spectacle of NFL game day come to life in the most photorealistic game to date. Play each matchup to your specifications by selecting from three new Play Styles or play the best real world matchups each week in Play Now Live! With the introduction of even more ways to play, coupled with your favorite modes, Madden Ultimate Team and Franchise, this is Madden like you’ve never seen before.
Madden NFL 18 launches for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on the 25th August 2017.
