Four veterans of DICE, the studio behind games like Battlefield and Mirror’s Edge, have parted ways with the EA development studio to form their own company called Fall Damage.
The studio which will be based in Stockholm, Sweden is led by CEO Anders Gyllenberg and includes one of DICE’s original co-founders, Markus Nyström. The duo are joined by Mikael Kalms who will take the role of CTO and Dan Vaderlind. They also took along Battlefield artist, Toli Andersröd who is Technical Animator.
Markus Nyström said in a press release
We want everyone at our studio to be involved in the games we create, it’s not until then we get the opportunity to channel all of our passion into our creations. The player experience matters the most to us. Not the hardware, platform or cutting-edge tech.
The new studio is looking to fill the roles of UX / Game Programmer as well as FX Artist. If you are interested, check out the Fall Damage website.
