If you are a streamer, you’ll find that it can be a labour of love for a while until you can become a Partner with Twitch after building up your viewership. Now, the streaming service wants others to be able to make money and have announced the Twitch Affiliate Program.
Twitch won’t actually be taking application for the new program, rather it will be sending out invites to channels it feels fits with what they are looking for.
So what are the differences between Partners and Affiliates? Check out the comparison chart below:
The idea behind the Twitch Affiliate Program is to be a stepping stone between casual streamer or newly starting out channel and that of a Partner channel. In it, you earn money from streaming and a share of Bits revenue when viewers cheer for you.
It should be noted that while Twitch has its own affiliate program, you can use its parent company to sell games and hardware through the Amazon Affiliate Program which is free and easy to sign up for. Then simply put those links on your channel. So you don’t have to stream totally for free if you don’t want to.
