Remember those massively popular NES Classic Edition machines that ran a bunch of classic games and are extremely difficult to find? Well, Nintendo has decided that its next shipment will be the last for this year will be hitting retailers this month.
That means Nintendo is taking it out of production but likely reserving the right to do it again in future by saying it will be the last of this year.
Nintendo told IGN
We understand that it has been difficult for many consumers to find a system, and for that we apologize. We have paid close attention to consumer feedback, and we greatly appreciate the incredible level of consumer interest and support for this product. It wasn’t intended to be an ongoing, long-term product. Ddue to high demand, we did add extra shipments to our original plans.
Of course, it is still possible to find the mini console from places like eBay and scalpers on sites like Amazon where prices are two or three times the retail price.
