On the back of Atlus telling people not to stream parts of Persona 5 to try and prevent story spoilers, SEGA has taken similar steps against the Japanese version of Puyo Puyo Tetris.
On SEGA’s Japanese website, a post explains that footage of the game cannot be uploaded to any site that can be monetised which includes the likes of YouTube since it runs ads.
Describing the block on Japanese streaming, SEGA Producer Sam Mullen posted on NeoGAF
For the English version of Puyo Puyo Tetris, there are no scenes blocked, and nothing that you can’t stream from either version of the game. All we ask is that you share respectfully and responsibly, and please respect the rights of Sega and its partners.
Puyo Puyo Tetris is available now on for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Wii U, PlayStation 3, Vita and 3DS in Japan. The Western version comes to Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 on the 25th April in North America and 28th April in Europe.
If you can’t wait for a couple of weeks for the Western release or you want Puyo Puyo Tetris on Xbox One then Play-Asia will gladly ship it globally.
