While the NBA and other European football teams have already started a transition to pick up eSports talent, Major League Soccer hasn’t been doing the same, until now.
MLS team New York City FC has signed up Christopher Holly to represent it in FIFA tournaments. Holly isn’t new to FIFA either, he was the top-rated FIFA Ultimate Team player in December. New York City FC isn’t entirely new to eSports though as their owner also owns UK football team, Manchester City (which explains the name and kit colours) who signed up its own eSports player last year.
