Telltale Games’ Minecraft: Story Mode – The Complete Adventure is heading to Nintendo Switch but as it does, it is getting a new, more expensive price point compared to other platforms.
On PC PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii U, Xbox 360 and Xbox One the game comes in at $29.99 or less while on the Nintendo Switch it is listed at $39.99. As with RiME, the reason appears to be the cost of bringing the game to market including putting the game on proprietary cartridges with flavouring instead of disc based media.
Some Switch owners are clearly upset but this price hike and the fact they get the game later than other platforms and seem to assume that Telltale Games should just absorb the extra cost. Others wonder why if the price goes up for cartridge based games, why does it not go down for digital games. We covered why that is the case is the past so be sure to head over and see why digital games aren’t cheaper.
Minecraft: Story Mode – The Complete Adventure includes all eight episodes and is available now for PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii U, XBox 360 and Xbox One. It is heading to the Switch on the 27th June.
