Some early adopters of the Nintendo Switch are reporting that the Switch Dock is actually scratching the display of the tablet section of the console.
The Nintendo Switch Dock doesn’t have any kind of protection or padding for when you dock the tablet. The screen itself isn’t using anything like Gorilla Glass to keep itself pristine, instead, it is covered with plastic. This means that unless you are extremely careful at putting your Switch into, and taking it out of, the dock you could see scratches appearing over time.
Users on /r/NintendoSwitch are coming up with creative ways to protect the machine including adding foam padding or micro fiber cloth to protect the unit. Conveniently enough, Nintendo and HORI teamed up to offer an Officially Licensed Screen Protective Filter which goes some way to protecting your new purchase.
