Sony is finally looking to bring a feature Xbox owners have enjoyed since the Xbox 360, the ability to use external storage. With the soon to be released firmware update, the PlayStation 4 external hard drive support will be a reality.
Sony announced that Firmware Update 4.50 is available to beta participants starting today and includes the new feature. Once you have the update, simply plug in your USB external hard drive into one of the ports and away you go. The new applications will appear in your Content Launcher and managed through the Settings menu. The PlayStation 4 will support up to 8TB hard drives.
