Mutant Football League is the spiritual successor to Electronic Arts’ Mutant League Football, which released for the SEGA Genesis/Mega Drive in 1993, is taking a second pass at getting crowdfunded on Kickstarter.
The game is labelled as “The wildest, goriest, most outrageous football game ever!” and revolves around American Football being played by teams made up of unusual and unforgiving monsters. Dead Heads, Bruiserbots, and Monster Orcs make up some of the aggressive teams that don’t hold back.
The campaign is looking to raise $60,000 and has already surpassed the halfway point with over 30 days left in the campaign.
The team at Digital Dreams Entertainment previously looked to Kickstarter to reach a $750,000 funding goal but fell short. Now, the team has almost finished the game and plan on using the crowdfunding to get them to the end zone and release the game.
Mutant Football League is due to release on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The PC version would be released in October 2017 with an Alpha in April and Beta in June. The console versions would follow releasing in Spring 2018.
