Nintendo has teamed up with HORI to make Nintendo Switch branded microSD cards for when the Nintendo Switch releases. The cards will be available in both 16GB and 32GB formats, to begin with. As is the way with Nintendo, they sell everything they make at a profit and it seems the micro SD cards aren’t any different.
The 32GB Nintendo Switch branded card is ¥7,900, about USD$70 while the 16GB version is ¥7,490. Looking for a high-end in the form of a SanDisk Extreme 32GB card from market leader SanDisk will set you back a mere ¥2,690, or about USD$23. The SanDisk Extreme 16GB card, on the other hand, comes in at just over USD$11.
There is no word on whether Nintendo will be bringing the Nintendo Switch branded storage to the West if they do we can only hope they would drop the price.
