Playtonic Games and Team 17 have released a new trailer that shows a first look at Yooka Laylee multiplayer gameplay. The local co-op can take place in the 8 multiplayer games found in Rextro’s Arcade as well as the main campaign. two player buddy mode for the main part of the game.
Rextro’s arcade can be played by 1-4 players in couch co-op while the main campaign can be played by 1-2 players in couch co-op.
In the campaign co-op, player two controls the Bee Team and can grab quills and collect butterflies for Yooka and Laylee to use for health or energy boosts. They can even prevent some traps from firing, allowing the heroic duo to get through a level.
Yooka-Laylee is a spiritual successor to Bajo Kazooie and is being developed by ex-RARE developers who originally made Banjo Kazooie.
The game was successfully Kickstarted after reaching over £2 million of their £175,000 goal and is due to launch on Linux, Mac, PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on the 11th April 2017. It was also expected on Wii U but was cancelled.
