Halo boss, Frank O’Connor has described Microsoft’s new console, Project Scorpio which is due to release later this year as “beefier than I expected.”
In a post on NeoGAF he wrote
Haha, although I probably ‘know’ [what Project Scorpio’s specs are] in that I might have seen it in a slide or something, it’s literally not something I have time to think about now and I actually couldn’t remember whatever specs I’ve been exposed to even if I was tortured. I literally couldn’t leak or answer a question that went beyond, ‘Can I do this? Does it support that? How many of these could it render?’ What I do remember is that it’s beefier than I expected.
This potentially bodes well for Microsoft who already promised that Project Scorpio would be capable of playing games natively in 4K resolution. After Sony released the relatively lacklustre PlayStation 4 Pro which didn’t include a 4K Ultra-HD Blu-ray disc drive, it went to Microsoft to see what they could offer.
As the Xbox One S includes a 4K Blu-ray player, Microsoft has it all to lose if they fail to deliver with Project Scorpio.
