UK retailer Littlewoods appears to have let slip the Red Dead Redemption 2 release date ahead of an official announcement from Rockstar. The date listed states that the game will release for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on the 2nd October 2017.
While the release date may be a placeholder, it does seem plausible that the game would come out around the time listed. Previously Rockstar has only mentioned the game would release in “Fall 2017”. The release would also put the game outside the hectic launch period usually filled up with the years biggest shooters.
It is expected that Red Dead Redemption 2 will feature an online component similar to GTA Online, although whether that will release at the same time as the game is unknown. With Grand Theft Auto V, Rockstar pushed the online component of the game later than the game launch to allow for extra development.
