Warner Brothers’ studio WB Montreal has cancelled development of a Suicide Squad game and is instead, moving its focus to a new Batman title.
The Suicide Squad game was said to have been in development for about two years but failed to meet expectations of the Warner Brothers executives. The game was designed as a co-op experience and would have been based on the poorly-received film.
The studio is now reportedly working on a new Batman title, the studio has experience with the franchise having worked on Arkham Origins. It isn’t known when the new Batman game will be announced as WB Montreal has undergone a number of staff changes in recent months and got a new studio head, Stéphane Roy who was previously was an executive producer for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.
Suicide Squad is available now on DVD, BluRay, 3D, 4K and Digital.
