The Battlefield 1 Fall Update was released on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One yesterday and one of the things it brought was Hardcore Mode.
In the blog post, DICE confirmed that game servers would now support the much requested Hardcore Mode where there is no minimap, crosshair or the ability to spot enemies. These features can be enabled and disabled based on the server settings.
In regards to server settings, DICE also pushed out the Rent-a-Server feature which allows you to rent game servers directly from Electronic Arts on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The Rent-a-Server program offers less choice than PC players are used to with Battlefield as the new program replaced the Ranked Server Program which saw server providers around the world offer rentable game servers.
The update also brought the ability to purchase Battlepacks through the “Get Battlepacks” option rather than hoping you randomly get awarded one after a round end.
The patch notes are available in a 12-page PDF format for your reading pleasure.
Battlefield 1 is available now on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
