UPDATE: Pachter has followed up on the article on The Daily Star saying that while he did use the comparison to racists, it was an unfortunate analogy. He also claims he never called PC gamers “twits” as it isn’t in his vocabulary and whatever he said must have sounded like “twit” to the reporter in a crowded and noisy press event.
I don’t think that all people who play PC games can be generalized into any category other than PC owners, so if you’re going to write something, please include my apology for offending anyone. I’m a big boy, and will live with my bad choice of words.
Original Article: In an interview with The Daily Star, Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter compared PC gamers to that of racists.
The interview came about due to the fact that Sony claims that the PlayStation 4 Pro wasn’t made to compete with the Xbox One or Xbox One S but was aiming at the PC market.
When asked whether the PlayStation 4 Pro is doing enough to entice PC gamers to the console, Pachter had an unexpected response
I think PC Gamers are like racists; they only like there own kind and they have no interest in venturing out and mixing with other races. PC gamers are arrogant twits who are convinced what they do is better than what anybody else can possibly do,
Pachter is known for being outspoken and often saying outlandish statements but this may be one of his most out there comments in recent memory.
Of course, as we all know, real gamers have PC and consoles.
