When it came to Speed

Login to network (Speed), Login to Game Server (Speed) and Time to Upload was dominated by Microsoft. Find Players/Matchmaking (Speed) was evenly split between the two networks.
In terms of Overall Quality

Login to Game Server (Speed and Reliability), Join Party and Voice Chat Quality were where Xbox Live excelled. Finding Players and Matchmaking (Speed and Reliability) was more evenly matched with PlayStation Network edging slightly ahead.
Of course, Microsoft was quick to use these results in marketing materials
Also, teaming up with NFL for this commercial highlighting the reports results.
The report did not cover how long it takes to download a game or sizable update from either network. Something we are pretty sure a lot of players on both systems care about just as much as how long it takes them to sign in.
