When it comes to playing online in games where timing and aim is critical, there is nothing worse than being shot around a corner. Blizzard knows this and is looking to address such scenarios with the High Bandwidth Update for Overwatch.
What previously was available in Custom Games is now rolling out to the main game which increases the tick rate of Overwatch. Rather than having to opt in, everyone gets the update and the game will check your bandwidth to determine whether you use standard or high bandwidth settings.
Don’t worry if you can’t get the high bandwidth throughput, though, the changes will also improve your experiences online to keep the game fair.
The High Bandwidth Update is rolling out to PC now, Blizzard has confirmed that PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game are being investigated to get the update as well. There is no current timeline for the consoles to get the update, though.
Overwatch is available now for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
