Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has been delayed until the first half of 2018 according to an update from Koji “IGA” Igarashi. The delay puts the spiritual successor to Castlevania about a year behind its original schedule.
IGA explains in the latest Development Update how he doesn’t feel the quality of the game is where he wants it to be. He wants to guarantee that it is done right, the first time.
I’ve realized that at this rate the game may not end up meeting my quality standards. I’ve decided to add a new development team to the main production and improve our approach so that we can keep the game fully on track for how I envision it.
The game which was successfully Kickstarted after reaching $5,545,991 out of the original $500,000 goal.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is due to release on Linux, Mac, PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
