ESL and Yahoo ESports have signed a two-year agreement to bring eSports to mainstream audiences across Yahoo properties.
As part of the deal, Yahoo and ESL will create new tournaments that will be covered and distributed by Yahoo with integrated sponsorship opportunities.
Yahoo ESports successfully launched in March and while the rest of Yahoo’s business has been thrown into question with shareholders looking to split the company, the ESports has proven popular with viewers. Yahoo Esports already covers competitive gaming including League of Legends, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2, Street Fighter V, and Heroes of the Storm.
