A multi-million dollar investment from Chinese sports and video game companies is allowing the creation of a dedicated eSports Arena in Oakland, California.
The new 16,000 square foot, 1,000 seat arena located on the Oakland waterfront near Jack London Square marks the beginning of Allied eSports’ plan to have a worldwide video gaming league through a network of arenas. The arenas feature top end gaming hardware and allows spectators to watch the events in a dedicated space.
Allied eSports plans to make a similar announcement for Europe sometime next week while already operating an arena in downtown Beijing.
Allied Senior Vice President Jud Hannigan said
We want to be doing events and creating exciting e-sports tournaments and generating captivating content on a consistent basis
The Oakland eSports Arena facility is scheduled to open before the end of 2016.
