The price of the HTC Vive is getting a bump from £689 to £759 in the UK, adding postage and packing costs, the total cost comes out at £820.
HTC commented on the price increase on their blog
HTC continuously monitors and adjusts pricing to ensure we are providing our customers with the best value possible. Due to recent currency valuation changes and the current value of the GBP we are adjusting the price of the HTC Vive in the UK to £759 + P&P. The adjustment will come into effect on Monday 1st August.
The value of the British Pound (£/GBP) decreased sharply after the UK voted to leave the European Union in the Brexit vote. The weaker Pound means that manufacturers are recouping costs in the UK, which is notoriously marked up anyway, by increasing pricing.
