Overwatch’s Torbjörn is to get a nerf on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One according to game director Jeff Kaplan.
Kaplan responded to player concerns on Reddit where some were reporting that the vertically challenged Swede was dominating matches, especially on PlayStation 4. In response Jeff Kaplan explained that Torbjörn’s turret could see a nerf by as much as 30% damage reduction.
While no date has been set for the balance tweaks, Kaplan does suggest we could see it by mid-July.
The PC version will not see Overwatch’s Torbjörn nerf, at least not yet and not in the same way. This is likely due to the speed and accuracy you can reach using mouse and keyboard being enough to counter the snap to target, 100% accurate turret. Console players may find themselves at a disadvantage against the defence due to slower aiming and turning.
Personally, we haven’t had problems with Torbjörn’s turret. Yes it can be annoying if you don’t expect it but it can be remedied with a few Pharah rockets.
Overwatch is available for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
