Playtonic Games is warming up for E3 2016 by releasing its Yooka-Laylee E3 2016 trailer ahead of the event next week.
However, as part of their announcement to backers on Kicksterter, Playtonic confirmed that the game was not going to hit its October 2016 release date and would instead release Yooka-Laylee to Q1 2017.
While we felt confident we could ship the game in October as originally projected in our Kickstarter, the Playtonic team has decided that it would prefer to add a few extra months’ polish to the game schedule.
Ultimately, this will allow us to deliver a better game to the tens-of-thousands of you who’ve supported us throughout development. And that’s what we all want, right?
Yooka-Laylee was successfully funded on Kickstarter where it reached £2,090,104 of its £175,000 goal. When the game releases in Q1 2017, it is due to release on Linux, Mac, PC, PlayStation 4, Wii U and Xbox One.
