RuneScape is taking a step forward after 15 years of adventuring by upgrading their engine bringing improved draw distances and better looking graphics.
Named NXT, the engine also allows RuneScape to drop the use of Java and instead opting for HTML5 making it run better and adds the ability to reach more platforms.
As part of the engine upgrade, Jagex also added a quest you can pick up from Benedict Encumberyak by the Burthorpe or Prifddinas as he has misplaced some important items he requires support in gathering. Jagex hopes this will help show off some of the NXT improvements.
