With the addition of backwards compatibility to the Xbox One in November games have been added to the list of Xbox 360 games which will work on Xbox One on a monthly basis. Now though, Microsoft has announced that due to player feedback, future backwards compatible titles will be released into the service as soon as they are ready.
Games will be tested and certified by Microsoft before release but as soon as that final approval is made, the game will roll out and get added to the compatible games.
As part of the announcement on the new deployment method, Microsoft added the following games to the backwards compatibility list:
- The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings
- Sam & Max Save the World
- Aegis Wing
- Counter-Strike: GO
- Age of Booty
- Space Giraffe
- Jeremy McGrath’s Offroad
- Small Arms
If you want to see your favourite Xbox 360 game available for Xbox One backwards compatibility, you can vote for it over at the Xbox Feedback site.
Games that are added to the list are available free for digital download if you owned it digitally on Xbox 360, if you have the disc simply put in the disc and play.
