Electronic Arts launched a PC subscription service for its digital store front with the arrival of Origin Access.
Similar to the EA Access system that launched on Xbox One, Origin Access offers a number of its older titles in its vault plus a discount on purchases made through the Origin client or the Origin website.
For the $4.99 / £3.99 per month subscription fee, players will get 10% discount on all digital purchases as well as access to vault games, of which there are 15 listed right now, that currently include:
- Battlefield 3
- Battlefield 4
- Battlefield Hardline
- Dragon Age II
- Dragon Age Origins
- Dragon Age Inquisition
- Dead Space
- Dead Space 2
- Dead Space 3
- FIFA 15
- Need for Speed Rivals
- Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare
- The Sims 3
- This War of Mine
Also, you get to play free trials before the launches of new titles and like the Xbox One EA Access, any progress you make in the free trial gets saved and is available in the full version when it releases.
While Origin supports both PC and Mac, Origin Access is only currently available for Windows PC gamers.
Electronic Arts have not ruled out putting such a system on PlayStation 4, however Sony previously stated that it did not offer its players value for money right before launching their own variation of the system with PlayStation Now.
