System Shock 3 has officially been announced following a leak that the game was coming last week.
Otherside Entertainment is currently working on Kickstarter funded project Underworld Ascendant. With their size and previous crowd funding methods, it is possible System Shock 3 could also face the crowd funding path in the future.
The announcement comes alongside a teaser website. At the bottom of the site has a brief audio clip which says:
Did you think I’d forgotten you?… Insect.
A survey around the game interestingly asks which platform(s) you’d like to see the game developed for and includes Mac, PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and “Other” which could mean the door is open for last gen consoles, it also goes on to ask for your interest level in VR technology.
The last System Shock title, System Shock 2 released in 1999 for PC, there is no indication on the website about what platforms the new iteration will release on but you can sign up for newsletters to keep informed.
