Ubisoft has made the second acquisition in a month by confirming it would be taking Longtail Studios, the developer behind Rocksmith, under its wing.
As part of the acquisition, Longtail will be known as Ubisoft Halifax.
Ubisoft Mobile’s executive director, Jean-Michel Detoc said
As we continue to grow our mobile business, we are also looking to develop our expertise and expand our network of mobile studios. The team of more than 30 talented people in Halifax brings with it a wealth of experience as well as a clear understanding of Ubisoft’s culture and processes.
Longtail was originally founded by Ubisoft co-founder Gérard Guillemot.
As well as Rocksmith, Longtail have previously released Dance on Broadway, Football U, Grey’s Anatomy: The Video Game, and Sports Connection.
Earlier this month, Ubisoft confirmed they were adding The Crew developer Ivory Tower, to its list of studios.
