Some gamers, for whatever reason like the power a PC can deliver but want to play with a game controller instead of mouse and keyboard. Previously you were pretty tethered to your machine if you wanted to use an Xbox One controller as your input method of choice. Now though, Microsoft is releasing the Xbox One Controller USB Wireless Adapter for Windows allowing you to cut the cord so to speak, sit back and enjoy wireless gaming.
The dongle plugs in to any free USB port and will only work with Windows 10 and Xbox One controllers, if you prefer the Xbox 360 controller or have an OS prior to Windows 10 you can grab the Xbox 360 USB wireless adapter.
It isn’t known whether Microsoft plans to add Windows Vista, 7, 8 and 8.1 support but with the push to get PC owners on Windows 10, it is likely to be some ways out if they do have plans underway.
The Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows is currently open for pre-orders and is retailing for $24.99 but you’ll need to pick up and Xbox One controller as well unless you already own one with your console or cabled gaming on your PC.
