When Satoru Iwata passed away in July, Nintendo started looking for a suitable replacement. That replacement is long standing Nintendo employee and ex-Managing Director in charge of corporate analysis, general affairs and human resources divisions, Tatsumi Kimishima.
Kimishima joined Nintendo in 2000 where he was appointed director of its Pokémon business and has been Managing Director since 2013 and will take on the role of President for Nintendo starting Wednesday.
Also, a new title was created within Nintendo called the “Creative Fellow” and will be filled by game designer and senior managing director Shigeru Miyamoto. Genyo Takeda will take the imaginatively titled position of “Technology Fellow.”
