The spiritual successor to Rollcage, GRIP has gone live with a Kickstarter campaign.
The developer, Caged Element, is looking to raise $657,000 Canadian dollars (around USD$500,000/£322,000) to bring GRIP to PC and PlayStation 4. Currently the campaign is at just over CAD$50,000 (~USD$39,000/£25,000) with 28 days to go.
The team includes two of the original development team of Rollcage, one of whom (Robert Baker) built the prototype you can see below with the effort of just one additional member of the team (Chris Mallinson). The second team member from Rollcage days is David Perryman who was level designer on the original Attention To Detail (ATD) developed and Psygnosis published title.
Caged Element fielded questions about an Xbox One version in the comments section saying “we’d like to explore the option of releasing on other platforms, but we can’t say just yet”
