Paradox Interactive and Colossal Order have revealed their first expansion for their city builder with Cities: Skylines After Dark.
Cities: Skylines After Dark brings a day and night cycle to the game along with a new leisure and beach specialisations for commercial zones. The leisure specialisation allows you to keep your commercial zones buzzing at night creating a true city that never sleeps, the beach specialisation allows you to place shoreline bars and restaurants.
Paradox explained at Gamescom:
Day and night changes in the city and affects citizen schedules. Traffic is visibly slower at night and some zoned areas do not work with full efficiency, further easing the traffic. Service vehicles move around as usual.
City services will also be expanded to keep your city running with taxis filling the streets and a new International airport can be used to bring in larger numbers of visitors. Crime also doesn’t rest and prisoners will be transferred between jail and prison by prison bus.
A firm release date has not been provided for Citis: Skylines After Dark but the rough time frame of “this year” is on the table.
