Slightly Mad Studios has announced that it has canned the Project CARS Wii U version after deciding that the racing title was too much for the hardware.
A studio representative told Nintendo Life
The official line is that we’re awaiting an announcement from Nintendo on new hardware. As of now Project Cars is simply too much for the Wii U.
Previous snippets of information from the studio regarding progress of Project CARS Wii U had the game running at 23fps.
As Slightly Mad Studios has already started work on the sequel to Project CARS and Nintendo hasn’t announced the NX yet, it is likely the sequel will be the version destined for the Nintendo hardware and not the current racer.
Project CARS is available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
