Swedish games developer Starbreeze is trying its hand at VR with the reveal of their system, StarVR.
The company claims that StarVR is the IMAX of VR headsets by offering a wider range of vision. Other VR headsets offer about 110 degrees of horizontal and vertical viewing range, the StarVR kicks it up a notch and offers 210 degrees horizontal and 130 degrees vertical. Combined that is a viewing area of 5120 x 1440 pixels at 2560 x 1440 per eye. Not only does it support an impressive viewing range, the device comes with positional tracking too.
While Starbreeze is mainly known for games like Payday, Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons and The Chronicles of Riddick, StarVR started development back in 2011 and is being made by InfinitiEye who Starbreeze acquired.
