Compulsion Games, creators of Contrast, the shadow manipulation puzzle platformer has launched a new Kickstarter campaign for their new title, We Happy Few.
The game which takes place in a dystopian city set in 1960’s England sees the masses living a lie by taking a drug called Joy which causes the taker to forget any bad memories from their past.
In the game, you play as a “downer”, someone who doesn’t take the Joy pills, trying to make their way through the city to escape the dystopia without being recognised as someone who doesn’t conform and in turn get beaten to within an inch of your life.
The We Happy Few campaign aims to raise CA $250k ($201,353 US) to make the game for PC. Mac and Linux are current stretch goals but there is no word on whether PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions will make their way to market although comments from current backers suggest it would be something people want.
