Matt Armstrong, creator and franchise director of Borderlands has parted ways with developer Gearbox Software.
Armstrong tweeted about his departure suggesting it was an amicable split
Things changed. No longer working at @GearboxSoftware. I will always love Gearbox, but it’s adventure time.

While Armstrong has left and the 2K Australia studio was closed, Borderlands 3 is still expected as a recent Randy Pitchford tweeted about the team even though he previously confirmed the game wasn’t in development yet.
It is unclear what Armstrong will be putting his focus on next but we look forward to whatever it is and Borderlands 3.
