Five Nights at Freddy’s is to get the movie treatment according to HollywoodReporter.com.
Warner Brothers has picked up the rights and has assigned Roy Lee, Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg the development duties.
The game involves sitting in a security room controlling lights, doors and watching CCTV for approaching animatronic creatures as they move when you aren’t looking. The goal being to last five nights at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria or get crammed into an animatronic creature yourself.
With limited power to control your surroundings the jump scares the game delivers has been shown often on YouTube with grown men screaming like a little girl for the amusement of their viewers.
Seth Grahame-Smith said
We’re looking forward to working with Scott to make an insane, terrifying and weirdly adorable movie
While game developer, Cawthon commented
The story really lends itself to being a movie, and it taps into a largely unexplored niche of horror that a lot of people will be able to relate to
Not everyone has the same reaction to the game though as The Fine Bros proved when showing it to the Elders React team.
