Playground Games, Turn 10 and Microsoft have released cars from the film, Furious 7 for Forza Horizon 2.
Previously only available to use in Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious, the cars are for the Xbox One version of Horizon 2 and are available starting today for $4.99/£3.99/4,99€ and is not part of the VIP or Season Pass offer for the game.
The cars featuring in the car pack are:
1970 Dodge Charger R/T Fast & Furious Edition
Here it is: the best way to live your life a quarter-mile at a time. Among Mopar enthusiasts the Challenger R/T stands near the king of the hill on the drag strip or road course. With a 426 Hemi under the hood pumping out 425 horsepower in its stock configuration, few would dispute the R/T’s ability to pounce. This highly modified Fast & Furious edition has a fully functioning supercharger and street blower scoop sticking out of a hole in the hood, pushing its actual power output close to 900hp. A custom coil-over race suspension, 18-inch wheels, extra wide tires and massive disc brakes turn all that power into a real high performance machine able to beat just about anything on the road.
1970 Plymouth Cuda Fast & Furious Edition
Letty’s not the only one who loves the Plymouth Cuda. It may have started out as a rare AAR Cuda, but with the upgrades this prime cut of American Muscle is running, we are talking about well over 600 horsepower of performance. Today, Cuda models bring exorbitant figures at auction; compared to similar-era muscle from GM and Ford, the Cuda is in a class of its own. With class-leading power from the race-bred 426 Hemi, the Cuda, straight from the factory, could hit 100 mph in around 14 seconds. It looked the part too, with bold colors, bulging fenders, and gorgeous details (eagle-eyed Mopar enthusiasts will notice the nose and tail lights on this custom ride are actually from a 1973 Cuda). While most at home on the dragstrip, the Cuda fared well on road courses, especially when driven by the likes of Dan Gurney and Swede Savage. Without a doubt, anywhere you roll this classic, heads will turn.
2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Fast & Furious Edition
There’s nothing like a Jeep to take you wherever you need to go, and this Jeep is ready to take on an army. It’s bulletproof, highly modified throughout, and is running a huge turbo-diesel motor. If it can handle being dropped out of a plane – as it is in Furious 7 – it can handle whatever you throw at it. Ever since their inception during WW2 as the ultimate general purpose vehicle – they dropped those out of planes, too – the Jeep has been making the great outdoors more accessible. In the Unlimited, you have four-doors, all the better for four-wheeling with your crew or just cruising the streets. The Jeep’s prowess at blasting through fields at high speed or crawling over boulders is legendary.
2014 Maserati Ghibli S Fast & Furious Edition
There is no substitute for the luxury and elegance of and Italian touring coupe. Jason Statham’s Deckard Shaw drives this Ghibli in Furious 7, and who can blame him? Maserati delivers a plush driving experience that you would expect from the marque as well as performance that can keep pace with anything in its class. As the original Ghibli designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro drew the eye to its sumptuous form, the latest Ghibli will captivate you with its details and alluring lines. Under the immense hood lies a technologically advanced twin-turbo V6 with more than 400 horsepower. The new Ghibli is true to the Maserati heritage with distinctive looks and a sound that resonates with the ears of any car connoisseur.
1970 Plymouth Road Runner Fast & Furious Edition
“Beep-beep,” was the only sound Chuck Jones’ road runner ever made. The famous cartoon bird was never caught by the coyote, and owners of Plymouth’s Road Runner very rarely are either. Plymouth created the Road Runner in 1968 as an affordable street-fighter that clung to the roots of what a real muscle car was: all-business. This is a car that was the choice of bootleggers and street racers, a car that was faster than most police cars of its era that could take the punishment without complaints. Before you destroy the competition off the line, intimidate them with the “Air-grabber,” which in 1970 was remotely actuated as well as functional, then let that HEMI 426 do the talking. There won’t be much left to say but “See ya!”
2015 Dodge Charger R/T Fast & Furious Edition
American muscle is a wise choice for Dom and it shows his Mopar roots amidst the supercars that prevail in Abu Dhabi. The Charger R/T has got more than enough gusto to raise some eyebrows. Packing 370 horses, the Charger is the choice of many police departments and governmental services that require pursuit vehicles. While no amount of speed can outrun a police radio, having this kind of power and handling readily available will make any driver think twice before attempting to evade. The Charger R/T (it stands for “Road & Track”) is a full-size four-door sedan, it will surprise you with its agility. A few flicks or the wheel with that Hemi roaring will soon have you doing nothing more than sitting back and enjoying the ride.
2015 Dodge Challenger Fast & Furious Edition
You know that Letty loves her Cuda, so what better modern muscle for her to roll than the 2015 Challenger? This car is built to handle the rigors of life in the Furious crew. The crash bars are just one aspect that make this ride a weapon for the road. Of course this version is modified to Letty’s specs; under the hood is the iconic and powerful Hemi. The late model Challenger has given new life to the production muscle car and will surprise you with its ability handle curves. The bulging fenders, long hood, and short deck are a classic formula that is creating a whole new generation of Dodge fans.
The free car release to coinside with the pack is the 1998 Toyota Supra Fast & Furious Edition
The Supra was effectively the king of Japanese sports cars in its day. When Brian and Dom faced off at the end of the original The Fast and the Furious, the Supra became the stuff of legend. Among Toyotas, the Supra has always been the hallmark mode with stellar looks and handling, but the real meat is found in the 2JZ engine. This motor has found its way to the hearts of many import-loving horsepower freaks. To say it is highly tunable is an understatement; simply put, you can wring power out of this thing all day long. When production ended, the world longed for a replacement, but only the Toyota FT-1 concept car is even rumored to eventually do so. 1998 was the last year of the Supra for the U.S. market, and this version was the fastest and most powerful Supra ever built. It is a car whose beauty, history, and performance all deserve a place in Toyota history.
Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious is still available for free download on Xbox One and Xbox 360 until the 10th April.
